Jan 23, 2006: Warning: Do not save a document over itself |
Yesterday it was discovered a problem in which saving (using Save As...) the currently opened pdf document over itself destroys the document. The simple fix is not doing it as there's no point in it :-D. You can see the bug report at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120674 and the patch that forbids you to do that operation at http://websvn.kde.org/branches/KDE/3.5/kdegraphics/kpdf/part.cpp?rev=501814&r1=499855&r2=501814. The problem got caught too late and will not be in KDE 3.5.1 release. |

The first release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.0. It has some usability enhacenments thanks to the collaboration with Florian Graessle and the openUsability team and some minor improvements in rendering quality thanks to the merging of xpdf 3.01 code . |

Aug 30, 2005: KPDF developers awarded at aKademy 2005 |
In aKademy 2005 the two main KPDF developers Enrico Ros and Albert Astals Cid have been awarded in the "Best new application or improvement to an existing application in the last year" category by their work on kpdf. |
Jul 23, 2005: KPDF development boosted! |
While kpdf for 3.5, the most stable version ever, is ready to go along as its improvements and bug fixes, so many exciting events are happening on the development front. In no less than two months, 1 fork and 2 new branches were opened! In KDE's svn repository you can now find: Piotr Szymanski's oKular (the fork of the annotations branch that will evolve to a full featured multidocument viewer), the Isaac Clerencia's Forms branch (aiming at providing the very requested forms support) and the Brad Hards's MultiTiff branch (aiming at integrating that format in kpdf). Welcome guys, we wanted so much to share the fun with you :-) |
