August 26, 2008: KPDF 0.5.10 released

February 19, 2008: KPDF 0.5.9 released

October 16, 2007: KPDF 0.5.8 released

The eighth manteinance release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.8. May 22, 2007: KPDF 0.5.7 released

The seventh manteinance release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.7. It includes quite a few new features and bug fixes. Jan 25, 2007: KPDF 0.5.6 released

The sixth manteinance release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.6. It includes some usability improvements and small bugfixes along with the fix to a vulnerability when reading some malformed documents. Oct 11, 2006: KPDF 0.5.5 released

May 31, 2006: KPDF 0.5.3 released

Mar 28, 2006: KPDF 0.5.2 released

The second manteinance release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.2. There are two crash bug fixes along with the fix that does not let the user save a document over itself (see news item from Jan 23). Jan 31, 2006: KPDF 0.5.1 released

Jan 23, 2006: Warning: Do not save a document over itself

Yesterday it was discovered a problem in which saving (using Save As...) the currently opened pdf document over itself destroys the document. The simple fix is not doing it as there's no point in it :-D. You can see the bug report at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120674 and the patch that forbids you to do that operation at http://websvn.kde.org/branches/KDE/3.5/kdegraphics/kpdf/part.cpp?rev=501814&r1=499855&r2=501814. The problem got caught too late and will not be in KDE 3.5.1 release.

Nov 29, 2005: KPDF 0.5.0 released

The first release of the KDE 3.5 series includes KPDF 0.5.0. It has some usability enhacenments thanks to the collaboration with Florian Graessle and the openUsability team and some minor improvements in rendering quality thanks to the merging of xpdf 3.01 code .

Oct 13, 2005: KPDF 0.4.3 released with some important bugfixes

The last manteinance release of KDE 3.4 has been released, it brings an updated kpdf with some important bugfixes to problems that slipped into KDE 3.4.2 release. See the changelog for info on all the fixed bugs.

Aug 30, 2005: KPDF developers awarded at aKademy 2005

In aKademy 2005 the two main KPDF developers Enrico Ros and Albert Astals Cid have been awarded in the "Best new application or improvement to an existing application in the last year" category by their work on kpdf.

Jul 23, 2005: KPDF development boosted!

While kpdf for 3.5, the most stable version ever, is ready to go along as its improvements and bug fixes, so many exciting events are happening on the development front. In no less than two months, 1 fork and 2 new branches were opened!
In KDE's svn repository you can now find: Piotr Szymanski's oKular (the fork of the annotations branch that will evolve to a full featured multidocument viewer), the Isaac Clerencia's Forms branch (aiming at providing the very requested forms support) and the Brad Hards's MultiTiff branch (aiming at integrating that format in kpdf).

May 31, 2005: KPDF 0.4.1 is released

KPDF 0.4.1 has been released along with KDE 3.4.1. Check the changelog to see the bug fixes we have incorporated to this release.

April 17, 2005: Usability report

Florian Graessle has finished the first usability inspection on kpdf. You can read it at kpdf's forum in openusability.org.

April 12, 2005: Usability expert joins kpdf team

Florian Graessle has joined kpdf team to give us advice in usability, if you are a usability expert too and want to join kpdf discussion drop by kpdf page at openusability.org.

April 9, 2005: IRC channel launched

The KPDF hackers usually meet at the #kpdf channel of irc.kde.org. Go there if you want to chat with us.

April 1, 2005: KPDF is April's App of the Month
